Nostalgia is something most of us are familiar with, that longing feeling we experience for a time that has already passed, a time that we wish we could have back. Except sometimes that longing occurs before the moment is over, and you find yourself trying to grasp at something you wish would last a little longer. As college graduation nears and the awareness of the loss of my current life as I know it becomes more and more apparent each day, I find myself experiencing this sort of “anticipatory nostalgia” where I am longing for my life as I’m living it.
Time is constantly moving, and things are constantly changing, and the bittersweet end of this chapter makes me wish time would slow down just a little.
